Fergus Community Market Opens Its Doors Mid-September

Fergus – F.A.C.E. the Fergus Area Community Enterprise group dedicated to the continued revitalization of a traditional main street, is pleased to announce that the town will very soon be home to FERGUS COMMUNITY MARKET, an exciting new venue that will offer, meats, fish, cheeses, fruits, vegetables, baking and a number of selected craft vendors located in both inside and outdoor booths. And, what an exciting main street location!

FERGUS COMMUNITY MARKET is housed in a three storey, stone C1880’s structure, formerly Russell’s Department Store which is located in the heart of the historic downtown St. Andrew Street retail area. With tin ceilings and exposed stone walls, the ambiance, and beauty of this heritage building emphasizes the rustic feel of a true old-fashioned country-style market.

Vendors who are committed to the market, include those who are passionate about locally grown produce and products. They also believe in the viability of a traditional downtown retail experience. A café, free weekly live entertainment and special street events are all part of the ambiance of FERGUS COMMUNITY MARKET. Market days will be Thursday through Sunday. The first exciting street event will be the annual Antique & Classic Car Show in September.

Space in FERGUS COMMUNITY MARKET is filling quickly. But, with three large floors to fill, F.A.C.E. is currently seeking other traditional, creative and/or unusual vendors who would like to be part of this new, exciting venture. Vendor benefits include cross-promotion and affordable booth rent in one of the desirable locations in Fergus’s downtown retail area.

Visitor benefits include enjoying a traditional main street shopping experience, knowing that they will support local entrepreneurs and purchase quality products.

F.A.C.E. looks forward to answering questions regarding FERGUS COMMUNITY MARKET, its hours of operation and special events. People interested in becoming involved as vendors should also call, or email for a vendor consideration application.
